 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Xochitl Escobar graduated as the valedictorian of
 the senior class of Sunset High School in Dallas on May 28, 2011;
 and
 WHEREAS, Earning the title of valedictorian requires not only
 intellect and aptitude, but also four years of dedication to the
 highest academic standards; to attain this coveted distinction, Ms.
 Escobar demonstrated a thorough understanding of a wide range of
 subjects, and the rewards of the countless hours she has devoted to
 her studies are myriad; and
 WHEREAS, In addition to the pride inherent in being
 recognized as the highest achieving student in her class, Ms.
 Escobar gained the opportunity to address her fellow seniors at
 commencement and to reflect on their shared history as well as their
 hopes and ambitions for the future; and
 WHEREAS, Throughout her academic career, Xochitl Escobar has
 earned the respect and admiration of her teachers and classmates at
 Sunset High School, and her exceptional scholastic ability, hard
 work, and commitment to excellence have opened the way to limitless
 opportunities for this remarkable young Texan; now, therefore, be
 it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
 Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Xochitl
 Escobar on being named valedictorian of the Sunset High School
 Class of 2011 and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued
 success as she begins the next exciting chapter of her life; and, be
 it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Ms. Escobar as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
