 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Wendell Dee Moore of Lubbock has been recognized by
 the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy for his 50 years of
 distinguished service as a CPA; and
 WHEREAS, A graduate of Texas Tech University, Mr. Moore
 joined the accounting firm of Pratas, Smith and Moore in 1960; he
 obtained his Texas CPA license the following year and became a
 partner in the firm in 1963; and
 WHEREAS, During the past five decades, Mr. Moore has served
 Pratas, Smith and Moore as administrative partner, and he has
 assisted with the firm's tax and financial planning practices; he
 has also worked in litigation support, testifying as an expert
 witness in numerous legal proceedings; since retiring as a partner
 in September 2004, he has continued to serve the business as a
 consultant; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Moore is a respected leader in his field; he has
 served as president of the Lubbock Chapter of the Texas Society of
 CPAs, the South Plains Estate & Trust Council, and the Texas Tech
 Tax Institute and as a member of TSCPAs committees on tax
 curriculum, relations with the Internal Revenue Service, relations
 with bankers and bank regulatory authorities, the Texas tax
 institute, and public practice curriculum; and
 WHEREAS, In addition to his professional activities, Mr.
 Moore has benefited a number of civic and charitable organizations
 and played an instrumental role in the formation of several
 companies; and
 WHEREAS, Wendell Moore has distinguished himself through his
 exceptional dedication to his profession, and he has truly earned
 the respect and admiration of his peers; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
 Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Wendell Dee
 Moore on being recognized by the Texas State Board of Public
 Accountancy for maintaining his CPA license for 50 years and extend
 to him sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mr. Moore as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
