No. 18 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Veronica Flores graduated as the salutatorian of the senior class of Sunset High School in Dallas on May 28, 2011; and WHEREAS, Earning the title of salutatorian requires not only intellect and aptitude, but also four years of dedication to the highest academic standards; to attain this coveted distinction, Ms. Flores demonstrated a thorough understanding of a wide range of subjects, and the rewards of the countless hours she has devoted to her studies are myriad; and WHEREAS, In addition to the pride inherent in being recognized as one of the two highest achieving students in her class, Ms. Flores gained the opportunity to address her fellow seniors at commencement and to reflect on their shared history as well as their hopes and ambitions for the future; and WHEREAS, Throughout her academic career, Veronica Flores has earned the respect and admiration of her teachers and classmates at Sunset High School, and her exceptional scholastic ability, hard work, and commitment to excellence have opened the way to limitless opportunities for this remarkable young Texan; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Veronica Flores on being named salutatorian of the Sunset High School Class of 2011 and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success as she begins the next exciting chapter of her life; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Ms. Flores as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
