 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, The Texas Historical Commission recently recognized
 the El Paso County Historical Commission with the 2010
 Distinguished Service Award; and
 WHEREAS, Given for outstanding preservation work, this honor
 recognizes county historical commissions that have demonstrated an
 exceptional commitment to promoting a greater understanding of
 state and local history; and
 WHEREAS, The El Paso County Historical Commission is
 dedicated to protecting the area's legacy of historic structures
 and artifacts for current and future generations through a variety
 of programs and initiatives; in addition to its inherent
 educational value, this important legacy also serves as a powerful
 magnet for tourism, which in turn creates myriad economic benefits
 for the county's residents; and
 WHEREAS, The members of the El Paso County Historical
 Commission are committed to preserving the rich and unique heritage
 of El Paso and the surrounding communities, and their efforts
 provide an inspiring model for the work of other groups around the
 state; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
 Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate the El Paso
 County Historical Commission on its receipt of a 2010 Distinguished
 Service Award from the Texas Historical Commission and extend to
 all those associated with the group sincere best wishes for
 continued success; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for the organization as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
