R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Wendy Hodges-Kent was elected to Place 3 on the
Cedar Hill Independent School District Board of Trustees in May
2011; and
WHEREAS, Providing youth with a quality education is
essential to creating a prosperous future for our state and nation,
and public schools are crucial to this endeavor; and
WHEREAS, Local school board members unite their efforts with
those of parents and classroom teachers and other education
professionals to meet students' current needs and to anticipate
future challenges as well; and
WHEREAS, In her role as a trustee, Ms. Hodges-Kent is
demonstrating a notable commitment to ensuring that Cedar Hill
students have the opportunity to receive an exemplary education,
and it is indeed fitting to recognize her for her dedication to
these young Texans; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Wendy
Hodges-Kent on her election to the Cedar Hill Independent School
District Board of Trustees and extend to her sincere best wishes for
continued success with her important work; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Hodges-Kent as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
