 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Janet Harris was elected to the at-large position on
 the Duncanville City Council on June 18, 2011; and
 WHEREAS, Deeply committed to her community, Ms. Harris is the
 current vice chair and incoming chair of the Duncanville Chamber of
 Commerce board of directors as well as the former president and
 secretary of the Duncanville Booster Club; and
 WHEREAS, Ms. Harris and her husband, James Harris, are the
 owners of Justin Moving Company in Duncanville; moreover,
 Ms. Harris has experience in the telecommunications industry,
 training customer service representatives and supporting call
 centers, and she was a real estate agent and property manager for
 more than a decade; and
 WHEREAS, Generous supporters of numerous civic initiatives,
 Ms. Harris and her husband provided moving services for Hurricane
 Katrina victims without charge and have donated food for seniors
 and sponsored Little League teams throughout the Dallas area; the
 couple are members of the Friendship-West Baptist Church in Dallas
 and are the parents of two children, Justin and Jaimee; and
 WHEREAS, Janet Harris is an outstanding leader whose
 achievements have greatly benefited the town she is proud to call
 home, and her desire to serve others and work toward the greater
 good has set an inspiring example for her fellow citizens; now,
 therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
 Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Janet Harris
 on her election to the Duncanville City Council and extend to her
 sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Ms. Harris as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
