H.R. No. 33 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, R. E. "Bob" Parker has been inducted into the Corpus Christi Business Hall of Fame by Junior Achievement of South Texas; and WHEREAS, A worldwide, nonprofit organization, Junior Achievement is committed to educating young people about free enterprise and entrepreneurship and fostering financial literacy; the organization's Corpus Christi Business Hall of Fame recognizes local individuals who have achieved excellence in their field and who have demonstrated vision and innovation, inspiring leadership, and community mindedness; and WHEREAS, Bob Parker is the founder and president of Repcon, Inc.; established in 1983, the company provides maintenance and construction services to the refining, chemical, and petrochemical industries and specializes in the planning and administering of plant revamps and shutdowns; and WHEREAS, Mr. Parker developed his entrepreneurial spirit and strong work ethic at an early age; while he was still in elementary school he started his own lawn mowing business, and he later worked at his uncle's gas station; he is a graduate of Texas A&I University, where he earned a bachelor of science degree in general engineering; and WHEREAS, Bob Parker has greatly contributed to the economic vitality of his community and this state, and he is indeed worthy of this prestigious accolade; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Bob Parker on his induction into the Corpus Christi Business Hall of Fame and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Parker as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
