H.R. No. 53
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Lauro Solis is being installed as the governor of
Rotary International District 5930 on June 24, 2011; and
WHEREAS, In his new role, Mr. Solis will lead about 2,500
Rotarians in the 56 clubs in South Texas as they uphold the Rotary
International motto "Service Above Self"; promoting goodwill and
peace, the group is dedicated to providing humanitarian aid
throughout the world; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Solis is especially committed to supporting the
Rotary Foundation, which aims to improve health and alleviate
poverty; to that end, he will oversee a project to benefit food banks
in the Rio Grande Valley; and
WHEREAS, By selecting Mr. Solis as governor, Rotary
International District 5930 has underscored his value to the
organization and community, and we join his many friends and
admirers in saluting him for his contributions to the greater good;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby honor Lauro Solis on his
installation as governor of Rotary International District 5930 and
extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared
for Mr. Solis as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of
Representatives.
