 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced
 by a great and enduring love, Jim and Marilyn Clanahan of Midland
 celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on June 6, 2011; and
 WHEREAS, Jim Clanahan and the former Marilyn Swint were
 united in matrimony at First United Methodist Church in Mont
 Belvieu in 1951; through the years, they have nurtured a fulfilling
 marriage that has been made even richer with the addition of four
 sons and their spouses, Keith and Gin, Kyle and Karla, Kevin and
 Jane, and Keric and Cheryl, as well as seven grandchildren, Emily,
 Michael, Nathaniel, Sean, Kelly, Cole, and Meghan; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Clanahan worked for Humble Oil/Exxon for many
 years and retired in 1986; Mrs. Clanahan has been a dedicated
 homemaker throughout their marriage; the couple moved to Midland
 shortly after they were married and then lived in several West Texas
 and New Mexico cities before returning to Midland in 1988;
 respected members of their community, they are congregants of St.
 Luke's United Methodist Church; and
 WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past six
 decades, this devoted husband and wife have remained constant in
 their commitment to one another, and the strength of their love has
 enabled them to meet life's challenges and opportunities with grace
 and optimism; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
 Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Jim and
 Marilyn Clanahan on their 60th wedding anniversary and extend to
 them sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it
 further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Clanahan as an expression of high regard
 by the Texas House of Representatives.
