SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 101
WHEREAS, For more than a century the Boy Scouts of America
organization has helped young men build character, become
responsible citizens, and develop their abilities in a wide range
of pursuits, and only those scouts who advance through the
program to its highest rank are rewarded with its greatest honor;
and
WHEREAS, Emilio Manzano of Boy Scouts of America Troop 155
in River Oaks has attained the rank of Eagle Scout, an
accomplishment that truly merits special recognition as a
significant honor bestowed on only a small fraction of those who
enter scouting; and
WHEREAS, The son of Mary Chaisson, he earned more than the
requisite 21 merit badges, graduated from Castleberry High
School, where he was active in band, and successfully completed
an Eagle Scout project consisting of building stairs for the
River Oaks Community Center; and
WHEREAS, This fine Texan has demonstrated outstanding
leadership ability throughout his scouting career, winning the
respect and admiration of his fellow scouts and peers as he
worked toward the highest rank that scouting offers and served
his troop and his community; and
WHEREAS, The qualities developed by a scout who attains
this prestigious rank are invaluable assets to him on the road of
life that lies ahead; and
WHEREAS, By becoming an Eagle Scout, Emilio Manzano has
brought great honor to himself, his family, his troop, his
community, and his state; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commend Emilio Manzano
on receiving this prestigious honor, congratulate him on his
outstanding achievement, and extend to him sincere wishes for
continued success and happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
Eagle Scout Manzano as an expression of high regard from the
Texas Senate.
