                            SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 108
 In Memory
 of
 Dolores D. Reyes-Trevino
 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
 citizens of Edinburg in mourning the loss of Dolores D. "Dee Dee"
 Reyes-Trevino, who died June 17, 2011, at the age of 39; and
 WHEREAS, Dolores Reyes-Trevino was born June 7, 1972, in
 McAllen and grew up in Edinburg; inspired by the positive impact
 of her teachers on her life, she decided to enter the field of
 education; and
 WHEREAS, After receiving her degree, she joined the
 Edinburg Consolidated Independent School District as the
 physical education teacher at Anita Villarreal Elementary
 School; determined to have an impact on more students, she began
 coaching basketball, soccer, and track and field at Memorial
 Middle School as well; and
 WHEREAS, She took the tragedy of her cancer diagnosis and
 turned it into a means to have a positive effect on the lives of
 others; she was an active participant in the Cancer Society and
 was the inspiration for the nonprofit organization Dee's Angels,
 which has done exceptional work in raising awareness about the
 disease; and
 WHEREAS, A woman of courage, faith, and strength, she gave
 generously to others; she will be deeply missed by her family and
 countless friends, and she will live on in the hearts and minds of
 everyone who knew her; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
 Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby extend sincere
 condolences to the bereaved family of Dolores D. Reyes-Trevino;
 and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
 her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
 Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
 memory of Dee Dee Reyes-Trevino.
