SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 11 WHEREAS, A golden wedding anniversary is a splendid occasion and calls for much celebration, and Mr. and Mrs. John Rentmeester have much reason to rejoice; and WHEREAS, John and June Rentmeester were married on June 1, 1961, and they are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on June 11, 2011, with their friends and family; and WHEREAS, Originally from Wisconsin, John and June share the same birthday, June 22; a former marine, John worked for Mobil Oil Company and was transferred to Texas; June was a teacher for 50 years, and she served as a volunteer teacher for 35 years at Calvary Lutheran School; and WHEREAS, They are active leaders in their community, volunteering for numerous causes and participating in Republican Party activities; John drives patients for cancer treatment several times a month and serves as president of the Franklin Park residents council; June was a ballot board judge for many years; and WHEREAS, The world has changed considerably during the years of their marriage, yet Mr. and Mrs. Rentmeester have cherished traditional family and moral values; they are avid travelers and have taken more than 60 cruises; the long and happy union of this devoted couple is truly an inspiration to all who know them; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Mr. and Mrs. John Rentmeester on their golden wedding anniversary and extend to them best wishes for the future; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for this distinguished couple as a memento of this special day in their lives.
