SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 17 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Sarah Ann Frazier of Crawford, who has been named a National Merit Scholar; and WHEREAS, A senior at China Spring High School, Sarah was selected for this prestigious honor based on her outstanding academic record, her high scores on assessment tests, a written essay, participation and leadership in school and community activities, and a recommendation from her principal; and WHEREAS, Sarah has maintained the highest academic standing among her classmates while taking the most challenging course load available; she has participated in a wide variety of extracurricular activities, including band, theater, student council, and the National Honor Society; and WHEREAS, Sarah has worked toward her ultimate goal of becoming an aerospace engineer by taking part in the National Aeronautics and Space Administration's High School Aerospace Scholars program during her junior year and the Interdisciplinary National Science Project Incorporating Research and Education Experience during her senior year; and WHEREAS, Sarah has served as an inspiration to her fellow students with her hard work and determination, and it is truly fitting that she receive this impressive honor; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commend Sarah Ann Frazier on her exceptional accomplishments and extend to her congratulations on being named a National Merit Scholar; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
