                            SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 59
 In Memory
 of
 Rosa Maria Barrera Arguindegui
 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and
 commemorates the life of Rosa Maria Barrera Arguindegui, who died
 June 4, 2011, at the age of 79; and
 WHEREAS, Rosa Maria Barrera Arguindegui was born June 3, 1932,
 in Mexico City; she attended the prestigious Colegio Alemán
 Alexander von Humboldt and the Jesuit Universidad
 Iberoamericana; and
 WHEREAS, She worked for some years for Proctor and Gamble
 de Mexico before marrying Carlos Arguindegui in 1959 and moving
 to Laredo; she earned bachelor's and master's degrees from Laredo
 State University and served as a teacher for 20 years at Martin
 High School; and
 WHEREAS, A devout Catholic who practiced her faith in her
 daily life, Mrs. Arguindegui regularly attended the Adoration
 Chapel at Saint Patrick Catholic Church and made regular
 pilgrimages throughout the United States and Europe; and
 WHEREAS, A woman of many cultural interests, she had a
 great appreciation for the arts, travel, history, gourmet
 cooking, and playing cards with good friends, and her warm
 hospitality and loyal friendship will not be forgotten by those
 who knew her; and
 WHEREAS, She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother,
 and she leaves behind memories that will be treasured forever by
 her family and many friends; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
 Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby extend sincere
 condolences to the bereaved family of Rosa Maria Barrera
 Arguindegui; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
 and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of
 Rosa Maria Barrera Arguindegui.
