SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 64 In Memory of Royce Christian WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens of The Woodlands in mourning the loss of Royce Christian, who died May 19, 2011, at the age of 60; and WHEREAS, Royce Christian was a longtime resident of The Woodlands who cared deeply about the community, working to make it a better place to live by promoting such projects as energy conservation, recycling, and resource preservation; and WHEREAS, Mr. Christian had a profound impact on the people around him, both in his work at an industrial shipping and supply company and in his involvement as a leader in numerous civic organizations; he served as president of The Woodlands Joint Powers Agency and Montgomery County Municipal Utility District 60 and was active in The Woodlands Community Association, the Lone Star Koi Club, and Birdies for Charity; and WHEREAS, A man of courage, generosity, and compassion, he gave unselfishly to others, and his wisdom, his capacity for seeing the best in people, and his enthusiasm for living each day to the fullest will not be forgotten; and WHEREAS, He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and although he will be deeply missed by his family and many friends, he will continue to live in their hearts for years to come; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved family of Royce Christian: his wife, Judy Christian; his son and daughter-in-law, Shannon and Paige Christian; his daughter and son-in-law, Amanda and Roy Letbetter; his mother, Marie Hall; and his brothers, his grandchildren, and the many other beloved members of his family; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Royce Christian.
