SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 75 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize George H. Torres, who is retiring as deputy superintendent for business and financial services of the Northside Independent School District after 29 years of outstanding service to the district; and WHEREAS, A graduate of The University of Texas at Austin, Mr. Torres joined the Northside Independent School District as a budget officer and has gone on to hold numerous other positions within the district, including director of budget and accounting and executive director of budget and accounting; and WHEREAS, Throughout his career, Mr. Torres has been noted for his superior organizational skills and expertise; he is a certified public accountant and a certified Texas school business official, and he is a member of the Texas Association of School Business Officials and the Government Finance Officers Association; and WHEREAS, Mr. Torres is a talented and resourceful administrator, and he has handled his many responsibilities with integrity and dedication; and WHEREAS, An exemplary public servant, he is respected and admired by his colleagues, and his presence at the Northside Independent School District will be greatly missed; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commend George H. Torres on his exceptional service to the Northside Independent School District and extend to him best wishes for continued success in all his future endeavors; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
