SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 77 In Memory of Fred Carmona WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens of San Antonio in mourning the loss of Fred Carmona, who died May 28, 2011, at the age of 60; and WHEREAS, Fred Carmona was born September 2, 1950; he was a 1970 graduate of Fox Tech High School, where he was a proud member of the football team; and WHEREAS, Mr. Carmona attended San Antonio College before embarking on a long career in business that saw him work for the Pepsi-Cola Bottling Company and Stanhome, Incorporated, before creating his own advertising business, Specialty Concepts; and WHEREAS, Mr. Carmona was renowned for his organizational abilities and was responsible for planning numerous parades that honored the culture and traditions of his beloved city and paid tribute to our nation's veterans; he was the driving force behind the Fiesta Flambeau Parade, the Diez y Seis Parade and Festival, and the United States Military Veterans Parade; and WHEREAS, A man of integrity, strength, and generosity, he gave unselfishly to others, and although he will be deeply missed by his large and loving extended family, he will continue to live in their hearts and minds for years to come; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved family of Fred Carmona; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Fred Carmona.
