SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 9
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Cecilia C. Rangel, who is retiring after more than 30
years of outstanding service with the San Benito Independent
School District; and
WHEREAS, An admissions, review, and dismissal special
education administrator at San Benito High School, Cecilia C.
Rangel joined the San Benito Independent School District in 1980
as an elementary school teacher; she has gone on to hold many
other positions of importance in the district, including
assistant principal, academic facilitator, and principal; and
WHEREAS, Devoted to her work, this esteemed educator has
had a profound effect on the lives of her students, assisting in a
wide array of student activities and giving generously of her
time and talents to help them with their work; and
WHEREAS, She has been active in numerous professional and
civic organizations, including the Texas Classroom Teachers
Association, the Harlingen Amigas Lions Club, the Texas
Elementary Principals and Supervisors Association, and the
Cameron County Civil Service Commission; and
WHEREAS, Cecilia C. Rangel has helped her many students
acquire the critical skills necessary to thrive in today's
complex world while instilling in them a sense of pride and a
lifelong love of learning; she is truly deserving of recognition
for her distinguished career and her many achievements; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commend Cecilia C.
Rangel on her exceptional service with the San Benito Independent
School District and extend to her best wishes for continued
success in all her future endeavors; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
