SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 93
In Memory
of
Christian Crum
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
citizens of Fort Bend County in mourning the loss of Christian
Crum, who died June 12, 2011, at the age of 31; and
WHEREAS, Christian Crum graduated from Clements High
School and joined the United States Navy; he served two tours in
the Middle East before beginning a career with the Stafford
Police Department; and
WHEREAS, During his four-year tenure with the Stafford
Police Department, Mr. Crum maintained the communications
equipment and helped to write a grant that made the city's new
Emergency Management Center a reality; and
WHEREAS, Long before Christian Crum became an officer, he
already had deep and well-established ties with the Stafford
Police Department and the law enforcement community; his father,
Lonnie Crum, is head of the department's patrol division, and a
number of the department's current officers watched Christian
grow up; Christian's grandfather, the late Sergeant Gene Cox, was
a homicide detective with the Houston Police Department; and
WHEREAS, An exemplary gentleman, Christian Crum was a
generous, kind-hearted person who was respected in the community
for his accomplishments; and
WHEREAS, He had a friendly, adventurous spirit and a
Christian Crum gave selflessly of himself and was beloved by
many, and he leaves behind memories that will be treasured
forever by all who were privileged to share in his life; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby extend sincere
condolences to the bereaved family of Christian Crum; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of
Christian Crum.
