 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 AN ACT
relating to the eligibility of school bus drivers for unemployment
 compensation benefits.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Section 207.041, Labor Code, is amended by
adding Subsection (b-1) to read as follows:
(b-1) Subsection (b) does not apply to an individual if the
services performed by the individual for an educational institution
consist only of driving a school bus transporting students to and
from school or a school-sponsored or school-related activity.
SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only
to a claim for unemployment compensation benefits filed with the
Texas Workforce Commission on or after the effective date of this
Act. A claim filed before the effective date of this Act is
governed by the law in effect on the date the claim was filed, and
the former law is continued in effect for that purpose.
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2013.
