| 10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Section 181.033(a), Election Code, is amended to | |

| 12 | 12 | (a) Except as provided by Subsection (b), an application for | |
| 13 | 13 | nomination by a convention must be filed not later than the regular | |
| 14 | 14 | deadline for candidates to file applications for a place on the | |
| 15 | 15 | general primary ballot [5 p.m. on January 2 preceding the | |
| 16 | 16 | convention]. | |
| 17 | 17 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2013. |
