10 | 10 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Sections 254.0311(c) and (d), Election Code, are | |
12 | 12 | amended to read as follows: | |
13 | 13 | (c) If no reportable activity occurs during a reporting | |
14 | 14 | period, the legislative caucus is not required to file a report for | |
15 | 15 | that period [shall indicate that fact in the report]. | |
16 | 16 | (d) Except as provided by Subsection (c), a [A] legislative | |
17 | 17 | caucus shall file with the commission two reports for each year. | |
18 | 18 | SECTION 2. The changes in law made by this Act apply only to | |
19 | 19 | a report of contributions to and expenditures by a legislative | |
20 | 20 | caucus that is required to be filed on or after the effective date | |
21 | 21 | of this Act. A report that is required to be filed before that date | |
22 | 22 | is governed by the law in effect when the report was filed, and the | |
23 | 23 | former law is continued in effect for that purpose. | |
24 | 24 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2013. |
