                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 83RD LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 30, 2013      TO: Honorable Robert Duncan, Chair, Senate Committee on State Affairs      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB1164 by Thompson, Ed (Relating to the territory that may be included in a single county election precinct.), As Engrossed    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Election Code to removes the requirement that county voting precincts must respect ward boundary lines of cities with populations of 10,000 or more. The bill would repeal Sections 42.005 (c) and (d) and 42.010 (a) of the Election Code. The Secretary of State indicated that any costs associated with the bill could be absorbed within the agency's existing resources.
