| 11 | 11 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 12 | 12 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 225, Transportation Code, |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | is amended by adding Section 225.091 to read as follows: |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Sec. 225.091. GENERAL ALFRED VALENZUELA HIGHWAY. (a) The |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | following highways are designated as the General Alfred Valenzuela |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Highway: |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | (1) State Highway 17 from the western municipal |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | boundary of Balmorhea to its intersection with United States |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Highway 67; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | (2) United States Highway 67 from its intersection |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | with State Highway 17 to the northern municipal boundary of |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Presidio. |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | (b) Subject to Section 225.021(c), the department shall: |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | (1) design and construct markers indicating the |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | designation as the General Alfred Valenzuela Highway and any other |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | appropriate information; and |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | (2) erect a marker at each end of the highway and at |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | appropriate intermediate sites along the highway. |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | (c) In this section, a reference to a municipal boundary |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | means that boundary as it exists on September 1, 2013. |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2013. |
