| 11 | 11 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 12 | 12 | | SECTION 1. Section 152.0771(a), Human Resources Code, is |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | amended to read as follows: |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | (a) The juvenile board of El Paso County is composed of: |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | (1) the county judge or: |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | (A) a member of the commissioners court |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | designated by the county judge; or |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | (B) an individual who is not a member of the |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | commissioners court and who is designated by the county judge and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | approved by the commissioners court by majority vote; |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | (2) each family district court judge; |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | (3) each juvenile court judge; |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | (4) up to five judges on the "El Paso Council of |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Judges" to be elected by majority vote of that council; |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | (5) a municipal judge from El Paso County selected by |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | the chairman of the juvenile board of El Paso County; and |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | (6) a justice of the peace in El Paso County selected |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | by the chairman of the juvenile board of El Paso County. |

| 29 | 29 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2013. |
