99 AN ACT
1010 relating to the composition of the El Paso County juvenile board.
1111 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1212 SECTION 1. Section 152.0771(a), Human Resources Code, is
1313 amended to read as follows:
1414 (a) The juvenile board of El Paso County is composed of:
1515 (1) the county judge or:
1616 (A) a member of the commissioners court
1717 designated by the county judge; or
1818 (B) an individual who is not a member of the
1919 commissioners court and who is designated by the county judge and
2020 approved by the commissioners court by majority vote;
2121 (2) each family district court judge;
2222 (3) each juvenile court judge;
2323 (4) up to five judges on the "El Paso Council of
2424 Judges" to be elected by majority vote of that council;
2525 (5) a municipal judge from El Paso County selected by
2626 the chairman of the juvenile board of El Paso County; and
2727 (6) a justice of the peace in El Paso County selected
2828 by the chairman of the juvenile board of El Paso County.
2929 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
3030 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
3131 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
3232 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
3333 Act takes effect September 1, 2013.
