| 12 | 12 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 13 | 13 | | SECTION 1. Article 102.0173, Code of Criminal Procedure, is |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | amended by adding Subsection (f) to read as follows: |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | (f) A justice court may, subject to the approval of the |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | commissioners court, use a fund designated by this article to |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | assist a constable's office or other county department with a |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | technological enhancement, or cost related to the enhancement, |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | described by Subsection (d)(1) or (2) if the enhancement directly |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | relates to the operation or efficiency of the justice court. This |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | subsection applies only to a county that: |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | (1) has a population of 125,000 or more; |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | (2) is not adjacent to a county of two million or more; |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | (3) contains a portion of the Guadalupe River; and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | (4) contains a portion of Interstate Highway 10. |

| 26 | 26 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2013. |
