12 | 12 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
13 | 13 | SECTION 1. Subchapter E, Chapter 13, Water Code, is amended | |
14 | 14 | by adding Section 13.148 to read as follows: | |
15 | 15 | Sec. 13.148. NOTIFICATION OF WATER LOSS. (a) The | |
16 | 16 | commission by rule shall require a retail public utility that files | |
17 | 17 | a water audit required by Section 16.0121 to notify each of the | |
18 | 18 | utility's customers of the water loss reported in the water audit. | |
19 | 19 | (b) A retail public utility shall provide the notice | |
20 | 20 | required under Subsection (a) on or with: | |
21 | 21 | (1) the utility's next annual consumer confidence | |
22 | 22 | report delivered after the water audit is filed; or | |
23 | 23 | (2) the next bill the customer receives after the | |
24 | 24 | water audit is filed. | |
25 | 25 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2013. | |
