                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 83RD LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 9, 2013      TO: Honorable John Davis, Chair, House Committee on Economic & Small Business Development      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB1524 by Anderson (Relating to election through secret ballot of a labor union as the exclusive bargaining representative.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Labor Code to provide that the election of a labor union as the exclusive bargaining representative of employees in an appropriate bargaining unit must be done by secret ballot. The Office of the Attorney General indicates that any costs associated with the bill could be absorbed within existing resources.
