12 | 12 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
13 | 13 | SECTION 1. Section 36.060(a), Water Code, is amended to | |
14 | 14 | read as follows: | |
15 | 15 | (a) A director is entitled to receive fees of office of not | |
16 | 16 | more than $250 [$150] a day for each day the director actually | |
17 | 17 | spends performing the duties of a director. The fees of office may | |
18 | 18 | not exceed $9,000 a year. | |
19 | 19 | SECTION 2. This Act applies only to a fee paid to a director | |
20 | 20 | of a groundwater conservation district for duties performed on or | |
21 | 21 | after the effective date of this Act. A fee paid for duties | |
22 | 22 | performed before that date is governed by the law in effect on the | |
23 | 23 | date the duties are performed, and that law is continued in effect | |
24 | 24 | for that purpose. | |
25 | 25 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2013. | |
