A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to electronic filing software provided or approved by the
Texas Ethics Commission.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 571, Government Code, is
amended by adding Section 571.0673 to read as follows:
Sec. 571.0673. RETRIEVAL AND RESETTING OF PASSWORDS USED TO
ACCESS ELECTRONIC FILING SOFTWARE. The commission shall ensure
that any electronic filing software provided or approved by the
commission contains a secure process through which a person using
the software to file a report or statement with the commission may
electronically retrieve or reset any password used by the person to
access the software.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2013.
