9	9	AN ACT
10	10	relating to authorizing the board of regents of The University of
11	11	Texas System to acquire certain property in the city of Arlington.
12	12	BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
13	13	SECTION 1. The board of regents of The University of Texas
14	14	System may acquire by purchase, exchange, gift, or otherwise, for
15	15	campus expansion and other university purposes of The University of
16	16	Texas at Arlington, all or part of the property in the city of
17	17	Arlington, Tarrant County, Texas, that is included within the area
18	18	with the boundaries specifically described as follows:
19	19	BEGINNING at the corner of E. 3rd Street and South Center
20	20	Street;
21	21	THENCE South along South Center Street to the intersection of
22	22	South Center Street and East Mitchell Street;
23	23	THENCE East along East Mitchell Street to the intersection of
24	24	East Mitchell Street and South Mesquite Street;
25	25	THENCE North along South Mesquite Street to the intersection
26	26	of South Mesquite Street and E. 3rd Street;
27	27	THENCE West along E. 3rd Street to the beginning intersection
28	28	at the corner of E. 3rd Street and South Center Street.
29	29	SECTION 2. The title to the property shall be taken in the
30	30	name of the board of regents of The University of Texas System and
31	31	shall be subject to the control and management of the board in the
32	32	manner and to the extent that the property now owned by The
33	33	University of Texas System in fee simple is held and controlled.
34	34	SECTION 3. This Act does not grant the state or The
35	35	University of Texas System the power of eminent domain over the
36	36	property.
37	37	SECTION 4. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
38	38	a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
39	39	provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
40	40	Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
41	41	Act takes effect September 1, 2013.
