| 12 | 12 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 13 | 13 | | SECTION 1. Section 1059.052, Special District Local Laws |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Code, is amended to read as follows: |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Sec. 1059.052. NOTICE OF ELECTION. Notice [Not earlier |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | than 30 days or later than 10 days before the date] of an election of |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | directors[, notice of the election] shall be published in |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | accordance with Section 4.003, Election Code, [one time] in a |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | newspaper with general circulation in the district. |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | SECTION 2. Section 1059.107, Special District Local Laws |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Code, is amended by adding Subsection (f) to read as follows: |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | (f) The board by resolution may order the lease of a |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | hospital or other facility owned by the district to any person. The |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | resolution must include a finding by the board that the lease of the |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | hospital or facility is in the best interest of the residents of the |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | district. |

| 27 | 27 | | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2013. |
