12 | 12 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
13 | 13 | SECTION 1. Subchapter E, Chapter 172, Election Code, is | |
14 | 14 | amended by adding Section 172.1113 to read as follows: | |
15 | 15 | Sec. 172.1113. COUNTY CHAIR PERMITTED IN POLLING PLACE. | |
16 | 16 | (a) In this section, "voting period" means the period beginning | |
17 | 17 | when the polls open for voting and ending when the polls close or | |
18 | 18 | the last voter has voted, whichever is later. | |
19 | 19 | (b) The county chair of a political party conducting a | |
20 | 20 | primary election may be in a polling place during the voting period | |
21 | 21 | as necessary to perform administrative functions related to the | |
22 | 22 | conduct of the election. | |
23 | 23 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2013. | |
