99 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
1010 AN ACT
1111 relating to waivers and grants of credit for the requirements to
1212 obtain certain private security licenses to individuals who hold
1313 security credentials from the United States armed forces.
1414 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1515 SECTION 1. The heading to Section 1702.1183, Occupations
1616 Code, is amended to read as follows:
1717 Sec. 1702.1183. RECIPROCAL LICENSE FOR CERTAIN [FOREIGN]
1818 APPLICANTS.
1919 SECTION 2. Section 1702.1183, Occupations Code, is amended
2020 by adding Subsection (c) to read as follows:
2121 (c) The board shall adopt rules under which the board may
2222 waive any prerequisite to obtaining a license for, and credit
2323 experience for a license requirement to, an individual who the
2424 board determines has acceptable experience gained during service in
2525 a branch of the United States armed forces, including the United
2626 States Coast Guard.
2727 SECTION 3. The Texas Private Security Board shall adopt
2828 rules to implement Section 1702.1183(c), Occupations Code, as added
2929 by this Act, as soon as practicable after the effective date of this
3030 Act.
3131 SECTION 4. This Act takes effect September 1, 2013.
