| 11 | 11 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 12 | 12 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 1956, Occupations Code, is |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | amended by adding Section 1956.06125 to read as follows: |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Sec. 1956.06125. REGISTRATION WITH COUNTY OR MUNICIPALITY. |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | A county or municipality may: |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | (1) require a person to obtain a license or permit from |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | the county or municipality before the person engages in the |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | business of purchasing and selling crafted precious metal in that |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | county or municipality; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | (2) impose a fee for the issuance or renewal of the |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | license or permit. |

| 22 | 22 | | SECTION 2. Section 1956.069(a), Occupations Code, is |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | amended to read as follows: |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | (a) A person commits an offense if the person: |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | (1) fails to make or permit inspection of a report as |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | required by Section 1956.062 or 1956.063; |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | (2) violates Section 1956.0612 or 1956.064; |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | (3) fails to obtain or retain a statement as required |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | by Section 1956.066; |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | (4) fails to file a registration statement as required |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | by Section 1956.067; [or] |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | (5) purchases an object in violation of Section |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | 1956.068; or |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | (6) fails to obtain a license or permit required by a |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | county or municipality as authorized under Section 1956.06125. |

| 36 | 36 | | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2013. |
