99 AN ACT
1010 relating to the confidentiality of certain home address information
1111 in ad valorem tax appraisal records.
1212 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1313 SECTION 1. Section 25.025(a), Tax Code, as amended by
1414 Chapters 348 (H.B. 3307) and 953 (H.B. 1046), Acts of the 82nd
1515 Legislature, Regular Session, 2011, is reenacted and amended to
1616 read as follows:
1717 (a) This section applies only to:
1818 (1) a current or former peace officer as defined by
1919 Article 2.12, Code of Criminal Procedure;
2020 (2) a county jailer as defined by Section 1701.001,
2121 Occupations Code;
2222 (3) an employee of the Texas Department of Criminal
2323 Justice;
2424 (4) a commissioned security officer as defined by
2525 Section 1702.002, Occupations Code;
2626 (5) a victim of family violence as defined by Section
2727 71.004, Family Code, if as a result of the act of family violence
2828 against the victim, the actor is convicted of a felony or a Class A
2929 misdemeanor;
3030 (6) a federal judge, a state judge, or the spouse of a
3131 federal judge or state judge;
3232 (7) a current or former employee of a district
3333 attorney, criminal district attorney, or county or municipal
3434 attorney whose jurisdiction includes any criminal law or child
3535 protective services matters;
3636 (8) an officer or employee of a community supervision
3737 and corrections department established under Chapter 76,
3838 Government Code, who performs a duty described by Section 76.004(b)
3939 of that code;
4040 (9) a criminal investigator of the United States as
4141 described by Article 2.122(a), Code of Criminal Procedure;
4242 (10) a police officer or inspector of the United
4343 States Federal Protective Service; [and]
4444 (11) a current or former United States attorney or
4545 assistant United States attorney and the spouse and child of the
4646 attorney;
4747 (12) [(11)] a current or former employee of the office
4848 of the attorney general who is or was assigned to a division of that
4949 office the duties of which involve law enforcement; and
5050 (13) a medical examiner or person who performs
5151 forensic analysis or testing who is employed by this state or one or
5252 more political subdivisions of this state.
5353 SECTION 2. To the extent of any conflict, this Act prevails
5454 over another Act of the 83rd Legislature, Regular Session, 2013,
5555 relating to nonsubstantive additions to and corrections in enacted
5656 codes.
5757 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
5858 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
5959 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
6060 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
6161 Act takes effect September 1, 2013.
