                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 83RD LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 6, 2013      TO: Honorable Geanie Morrison, Chair, House Committee on Elections      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB2372 by Klick (Relating to establishing an interstate voter registration crosscheck program.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Election Code to require the Secretary of State to coordinate with other states and jurisdictions in order to develop systems to prevent the duplication of voter registration.     The Secretary of State estimates there would be a minimal cost associated with implementing the provisions of the bill. This bill would take effect immediately if it receives a vote of two-thirds of each house; if not, it will take effect on September 1, 2013.
