A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to a waiver for certain qualifications for registration as
a registered professional land surveyor.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Subchapter F, Chapter 1071, Occupations Code, is
amended by adding Section 1071.2541 to read as follows:
Sec. 1071.2541. WAIVER OF CERTAIN REQUIREMENTS FOR PREVIOUS
CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRATION HOLDER. The board may waive any
qualification requirement under Section 1071.254(a) for an
applicant for registration as a registered professional land
surveyor if the applicant:
(1) held a certificate of registration as a registered
professional land surveyor and did not renew the certificate due to
the applicant's own medical condition;
(2) has a professional land surveyor certificate of
registration that has not been lapsed more than two years; and
(3) has at least 15 years of experience performing
professional land surveying while holding a certificate of
registration.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
a vote of two-thirds of all members elected to each house, as
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
Act takes effect September 1, 2013.
