A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to workforce training programs funded by the skills
development fund.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Section 303.003, Labor Code, is amended by
adding Subsection (b-2) to read as follows:
(b-2) In addition to the programs established under
Subsection (b-1), the commission by rule may establish and develop
additional programs using the skills development fund under which
public community and technical colleges provide customized
workforce training opportunities designed specifically to meet
regional emerging future industry and workforce training needs
identified by the commission for purposes of this subsection.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
Act takes effect September 1, 2013.
