| 9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Section 505.153, Local Government Code, is | |
| 11 | 11 | amended to read as follows: | |
| 12 | 12 | Sec. 505.153. PROJECTS RELATED TO [AFFORDABLE] HOUSING. | |
| 13 | 13 | For purposes of this chapter, "project" includes land, buildings, | |
| 14 | 14 | equipment, facilities, and improvements found by the board of | |
| 15 | 15 | directors to be required or suitable for the promotion of | |
| 16 | 16 | development and expansion of housing, including affordable | |
| 17 | 17 | housing, as described by 42 U.S.C. Section 12745. | |
| 18 | 18 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | |
| 19 | 19 | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | |
| 20 | 20 | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | |
| 21 | 21 | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | |
| 22 | 22 | Act takes effect September 1, 2013. |
