11 | 11 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
12 | 12 | SECTION 1. Chapter 102, Family Code, is amended by adding | |
13 | 13 | Section 102.0031 to read as follows: | |
14 | 14 | Sec. 102.0031. INTERVENTION BY FOSTER PARENT. A court may | |
15 | 15 | not permit a foster parent of a child placed in the foster parent's | |
16 | 16 | home by the Department of Family and Protective Services leave to | |
17 | 17 | intervene in a pending suit that involves the child unless the | |
18 | 18 | parent-child relationship between the child and every living parent | |
19 | 19 | of the child has been finally terminated for at least 90 days. | |
20 | 20 | SECTION 2. Section 102.0031, Family Code, as added by this | |
21 | 21 | Act, applies only to a motion to intervene pending on or filed on or | |
22 | 22 | after the effective date of this Act. | |
23 | 23 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2013. |
