99 AN ACT
1010 relating to the authority of the board of regents of The Texas A&M
1111 University System to dispose of real property and mineral interests
1212 under its jurisdiction.
1313 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1414 SECTION 1. Section 85.25(b), Education Code, is amended to
1515 read as follows:
1616 (b) The board may grant, sell, lease, or otherwise dispose
1717 of the lands and mineral interests under its jurisdiction [that do
1818 not comprise any portion of the original main campus of Texas A&M
1919 University] to other units or agencies of government, or to any
2020 individual, group of individuals, corporation, or other entity,
2121 under terms and conditions the board considers [it deems] best in
2222 the public interest.
2323 SECTION 2. Sections 85.25(c) and (d), Education Code, are
2424 repealed.
2525 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
2626 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
2727 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
2828 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
2929 Act takes effect September 1, 2013.
