Lewis, Chair, House Committee on Judiciary & Civil Jurisprudence      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB2918 by Thompson, Senfronia (Relating to statutory durable powers of attorney.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Estates Code to adopt a new statutory durable power of attorney form. It is not anticipated that the bill will result in a significant fiscal impact to the court system. The change in law would only apply to a power of attorney executed on or after the bill's effective date. The bill would take effect January 1, 2014. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
