 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 AN ACT
 relating to the authority of the Texas Workforce Commission to use
 certain unemployment compensation funds for reemployment
 activities.
 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
 SECTION 1.  Section 203.025, Labor Code, is amended by
 adding Subsection (c) to read as follows:
 (c)  Notwithstanding Subsections (a) and (b) or any other
 provision of this subtitle or other law, the commission, under an
 agreement with or waiver by the United States secretary of labor,
 may use money requisitioned from this state's account in the
 federal trust fund to conduct demonstration projects for the
 reemployment of unemployed individuals in the manner prescribed by
 that agreement or waiver and consistent with any applicable
 requirements under federal law. The commission shall provide to the
 legislative standing committees with primary jurisdiction over the
 commission any evaluation reports required by the United States
 Department of Labor for a reemployment demonstration project.
 SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution.  If this
 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
 Act takes effect September 1, 2013.
