A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to minimum jail standards for county jails.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Section 511.009, Government Code, is amended by
adding Subsection (d) to read as follows:
(d) The commission may not establish minimum standards
under this chapter that are more stringent than the state or federal
constitution requires, as determined by a specific order or opinion
issued by a court of this state or the United States.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2013.
