| 8 | 8 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 9 | 9 | SECTION 1. Section 545.058(c), Transportation Code, is | |
| 10 | 10 | amended to read as follows: | |
| 11 | 11 | (c) A limitation in this section on driving on an improved | |
| 12 | 12 | shoulder does not apply to: | |
| 13 | 13 | (1) an authorized emergency vehicle responding to a | |
| 14 | 14 | call; | |
| 15 | 15 | (2) a police patrol; [or] | |
| 16 | 16 | (3) a bicycle; or | |
| 17 | 17 | (4) a slow-moving vehicle, as defined by Section | |
| 18 | 18 | 547.001. | |
| 19 | 19 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | |
| 20 | 20 | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | |
| 21 | 21 | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | |
| 22 | 22 | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | |
| 23 | 23 | Act takes effect September 1, 2013. |
