The bill would require the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC), at the time a person is recertified as eligible to receive benefits or assistance under the financial assistance program under Chapter 31, Human Resources Code (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families), the medical assistance program under Chapter 32, Human Resources Code (Medicaid), and the supplemental nutrition assistance program under Chapter 33, Human Resources Code, to provide information regarding the total amount of benefits or assistance received by that person under all of the programs during the preceding 12 months. HHSC estimates there would be a cost associated with system modifications, but it is assumed that implementation of the bill could be accomplished with existing resources.
