A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to approval required for modifications to certain toll
projects and related contracts.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Section 228.013, Transportation Code, is amended
by adding Subsection (c) to read as follows:
(c) After a committee makes a final determination regarding
the issues under Subsection (b), the department may not
substantially modify the scope of the project or the terms or
schedule of any contract relating to the project without committee
approval of the proposed modification.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
Act takes effect September 1, 2013.
