The bill would amend the Family Code to authorize the state to appeal an illegal disposition in certain certain juvenile justice cases. The Office of Court Administration does not anticipate any significant fiscal impact to the court system resulting from the bill. The Texas Juvenile Justice Department does not anticipate that the bill will have a fiscal impact on the agency. The changes in law would apply only to juvenile conduct occurring on or after the bill's effective date. The bill would take effect September 1, 2013.
