                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 83RD LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 18, 2013      TO: Honorable Tan Parker, Chair, House Committee on Corrections      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB3743 by Wu (Relating to the authority of a prosecutor in a juvenile case to appeal certain judicial decisions.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Family Code to authorize the state to appeal an illegal disposition in certain certain juvenile justice cases. The Office of Court Administration does not anticipate any significant fiscal impact to the court system resulting from the bill. The Texas Juvenile Justice Department does not anticipate that the bill will have a fiscal impact on the agency.   The changes in law would apply only to juvenile conduct occurring on or after the bill's effective date. The bill would take effect September 1, 2013. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
